Cabin Heat Boxes
Also called Cabin Heat Shuttle
(click on pictures to see larger pictures)

All of the cabin heat box units can be either riveted or bolted to the firewall of your aircraft.  The mounting flanges have holes for both bolts and rivets.

STANDARD HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX

STANDARD HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX
P/N DL-001

This cabin heat box has been engineered to be the smoothest, most efficient and lightest heat box built. Fabricated from aircraft-grade aluminum with stainless steel shaft, arm and flapper. Originally designed for use on the popular RV-4 homebuilt, but is applicable to most other designs. Total weight is only 5.2 ounces. Furnished with a gasket and four blind rivets for the forward side of the firewall for leak-free ducting of warm air to anywhere the builder wants it. Inlet and outlet are 2 inch OD 6061-T4 seamless alum. The body of the box is constructed of 5052-032 alum. The outlet tube extends through the firewall so that scat tubing can be attached to route the warm air. Superior craftsmanship and quality. Over 4,000 sold to date.

DELUXE HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX

DELUXE HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX
P/N DL-002

This cabin box is our first modification to our standard heat box. It is also furnished with a gasket and four blind rivets. The only difference between this and the standard is that the deluxe cabin heat box has one inlet and two outlets; the second outlet must be used to dump and route, via 2" scat tube, the warm air away from the low plenum area when heat is not being used in the cabin. (It is very important not to run the dump tube to another box on the other side of the firewall, because a constant flow of air is necessary to ensure that the heat muff does not overheat.) The weight on this unit is 5.5 ounces.

DELUXE HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX ? STAINLESS STEEL

DELUXE HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX STAINLESS STEEL
P/N DL-003

This box is identical to the Deluxe Homebuilders Cabin Heat Box except that the tubing that goes through the firewall and the mounting flange are also stainless steel for extra protection from fire. Furnished with a gasket and four stainless steel rivets. Weight is 7.1 ounces.

2 ½" INLET AND 2" OUTLET HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX

2 ½" INLET AND 2" OUTLET HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX
P/N DL-004

This box is identical to the deluxe stainless steel cabin heat box, except that the inlet is 2 ½" OD so that it can be used on larger heat muff applications where the builder is using 2 ½" scat tubing. Furnished with a gasket and four stainless steel rivets. Weight is 7.2 ounces.

2 1/2" OD INLET and 2 1/2" OD OUTLET HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX

2 ½" OD INLET and 2 ½" OD OUTLET HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX
P/N DL-005

This box is identical to the deluxe stainless steel cabin heat box, except that the inlet and outlet are 2 ½" OD so that this box can be used when the builder wants to use 2 ½" scat tubing throughout the project. (This box was used on the Cirrus SR20 certified aircraft, but is no longer manufactured as a certified box.) Furnished with a gasket and four stainless steel rivets. Weight is 6.3 ounces.

DELUXE HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX ALL STAINLESS STEEL

DELUXE HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX, ALL STAINLESS STEEL
P/N DL-006

This box was developed in response to customer requests.  With the exception of brass shaft bushings, this box is constructed entirely of stainless steel, including all SS blind rivets.  Like the deluxe boxes, this unit has a 2" inlet and 2" outlets. This box was developed for early Cirrus Design aircraft, but is no longer manufactured as a certified box.

CABIN HEAT BOX

CABIN HEAT BOX
P/N DL-008

2.5" inlet and 2.5" outlet. The inlet is positioned 90 degrees to the outlet, versus straight through in all of our other boxes. The mounting plate, shaft, flapper and bushings are all stainless steel. The rest of the box is anodized aluminum. This box was developed for early Cirrus Design aircraft. Furnished with silicone gasket. Weight is 6.3 ounces.

SIDE INTAKE HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX SIDE INTAKE HOMEBUILDERS CABIN HEAT BOX
P/N DL-015

This box is identical to the standard cabin heat box, P/N DL-001, except that the air intake is parallel to the firewall rather than coming straight in from the heat muff. This gives the builder the option of running scat tube parallel to the firewall. Total weight is 5.2 ounces. Furnished with a flange gasket and four blind rivets. Can also be bolted to firewall.

Stainless Steel Tri-Box

All Stainless Steel Tri-Box
P/N DL-025

These boxes were developed for builders who want a simple, light, all stainless box that will fit in tight places, as it does not extend forward of the firewall as far as a standard box.

Shown in the photo is a left unit. The box is available in both left and right units. The hole spacing is correct for the pre-punched holes in the RV-10 firewall, but they can be mounted on any firewall. For ease in cable routing, the arm on the box is adjustable using the provided lock nuts. Everything in the unit is stainless steel, including bushings and rivets. It is furnished with a closed-cell silicone gasket. Weight is 9.8 ounces.

Note - These boxes are a direct replacement for the aluminum box available from Vans. The RV-10 uses both a left and a right unit, and they also can be ordered separately. If you are not sure which one(s) you need, refer to your firewall plans drawings.
